Who will like it? Elementary school students. ESL students. People who are kids on the inside, adulting on the outside.
Children’s books reminds me of what it was like to be little. To simplify things and forget that the world isn’t that complicated. Kids don’t ever think about sucking up to a boss for a promotion, or reapplying makeup to “look much better” but still mostly looking the same. This book covers mini-stories in the life of Peter Warren Hatcher, the older child, and Farley Drexel Hatcher, or Fudge. Sometimes Fudge is cute, but other times he’s just a troublemaker.
Peter, stepping in the shoes of an older sibling, has to step outside of the spotlight, for everyone to focus on Fudge. If you feel stressed, tired, anxious, just read some children’s literature and let the words transport you to a different time that is still inside of you. The vocabulary is simple and succinct, and every sentence serves a purpose. If you’re feeling blissful and not anywhere near stressed, you don’t have much to lose either.
